A cellular encryption digital card is basically a device which can be attached to a mobile phone which is data capable. How it works in simple terms is – when the voice or data is sent via the phone the card attached converts this voice or data using cipher encryption method and transfers this encrypted data to the receiver. The card at the receiver’s end will re-convert the data and decrypt for the receiver to understand the data received.

Naturally the cellular encryption digital card must be used by the sender and the receiver for this process to work successfully.

These cards are usually used by government agencies, businesses dealing with sensitive information and any individual who wishes to communicate in an encrypted mode. The security of these cards is based on something known as the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) which is the encryption standard of the US government. The AES has three different block ciphers AES-128, AES-256 and AES-256. The commonly used one in commercially available encryption cards is the 128 key.

The encryption cards are in high demand because of their portability and flexibility. It is therefore extremely useful for people on-the-go who needs to communicate sensitive information over a cellular phone in a secure and encrypted manner.

It must be kept in mind that due to the nature of this device, one might require a license from the government in order to export the same.
