14X CAT SCOPE

Scope is a short version of telescope or periscope. A telescope is an instrument to observe remote/distant objects by the method of electromagnetic radiation. There are many types of telescope such as optical telescope, radio telescope, high energy particle telescope and even some other types of telescopes (gravitational wave telescope, infrared telescope, sub-millimeter telescope etc). Some of the important optical telescopes are SOPHIA, Hubble, Bok Telescope, MAGNUM etc. 14X cat scope is one of the most powerful optical telescope. This wonderful device produces a 16X magnification and uses the catadioptric (cat) technology. The catadioptric technology is one in which both reflection and refraction takes place using lenses and curved mirrors. This technology is generally used in search lights, headlamps, microscopes, telephone lenses etc.

In spite of being such a powerful device, 14X cat scope's length is only seven and a half inch and the diameter is two and a half quarter. It doesn't weigh much but is only 13.6 oz (oz is representation for ounce; approximately 385 gm).

The device's compactness is brought by the advanced optical system. The optical system consists of a fully coated refracting lenses and reflecting mirrors (curved mirrors). The brightness and the quality of the image is assured by the large objective lens. These lens are almost 40mm long. The durable rubber armor protects it from moisture and gives resistance towards shock.

The device is compact and is portable. Each cat scope comes with the carry case making it portable in nature. The carrying kit of the device consists of the lens cover and a carrying strap.

14X cat scope has a high degree of error correction than the normal lenses or mirrors and have a wide field of view. The optical path is folded and thus it reduces the aberrations formed by the image forming optical system.

The device is available for a price of approx $88 - $89. This device is just one of its kinds and was developed during the space race. It produces a high magnification and the optical quality is very good. The effective combination of lens and mirror produces good images and aberrations are also reduced.
